GFPD investigates attacks in the city center | ABC Fox Great Falls

GRANDES FALLS, Mont. – Law enforcement is investigating two reported assaults in downtown Great Falls that are believed to be related.

According to the Great Falls Police Department (GFPD), on two different dates and times, two victims were severely assaulted in what appear to be completely unprovoked attacks.

The victims of both attacks were sleeping in the city center at the time of the attacks and both suffered serious injuries.

In addition, the two attacks occurred after the closure of all shops and bars in the area.

The GFPD says detectives believe there have been other attacks that have not yet been reported.

Photographs of surveillance footage of the city center are said to show two people who likely have information about the assaults.

Public assistance is being sought in identifying the two people depicted in the photographs, as detectives must tell them about the assaults.

These crimes appear to have been focused on the transient population and were not provoked, GFPD said, adding that community assistance in this matter is needed to help them protect the community.
