NEW BRITAIN – The New Britain Downtown District has elected a new executive council.
The NBDD Nominating Committee has nominated Frank Shank as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, while the vacant position of Vice Chairman will be filled by Dennis Morrell. Leo Gagné will continue to act as treasurer and Justine Moriarty will take over as secretary.
“The new Executive Council looks forward to working with District Members, Council Committees and our new Executive Director, Nicole Bosco,” Morrell said. “We look forward to the completion of several new residential units and our focus will be on implementing programs to meet their needs and the needs of our business owners.”
Each officer has served on the NBDD Board of Directors for several years, each having held leadership positions in the past.
“The executive committee has extensive institutional knowledge of the inner workings of NBDD and vested interests to ensure the needs of downtown are represented,” Bosco said.
The New Britain Downtown District Executive Committee leads the Board of Commissioners in tandem with the Executive Director. The Executive Committee directs and oversees the priorities established by the General Manager and the Council of Commissioners, such as the downtown strategic plan and beautification efforts.
The next meeting of the Council of Commissioners will be held Tuesday at noon at the Visitor Center located at 66 Main Street West.
