A new conference room and event center has popped up in the community for meetings, events, get-togethers and more this month.

Following a recent renovation, the former Duncan Chamber of Commerce will become The Exchange Boardroom & Event Center in Duncan’s downtown district.

The Exchange Boardroom & Event Center will host a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 8.

The grand opening will host Big Belly Deli selling items from its food truck.

The center will provide additional space for birthdays, celebrations, baby and bridal showers, reunions, anniversaries and graduations and corporate events after owners Tanner and Elizabeth Cline purchased the site from the building in the summer of 2021.

Elizabeth Cline said they and her husband, Tanner, put down roots in Duncan almost nine years ago in 2013.

“It became our home and that of our two children,” she said. “We wanted to reinvest in the community where we are raising our family.”

Elizabeth Cline said that when they moved Tanner had the opportunity as financial adviser to Edward Jones to take over the local branch and from there the idea of the boardroom grew.

“We took a leap of faith,” she said. “We didn’t know anyone in town and neither of us had ever been to Duncan – now it’s been almost nine years and two kids later and we’ve never looked back.”

Since purchasing the building last summer, Elizabeth Cline said their initial plans were for the building to be a great setup for Tanner Cline’s Edward Jones practice.

With the building already being developed to accommodate events and meetings, The Clines felt that the community of Duncan could benefit from a newly renovated facility in its downtown neighborhood.

“The exchange was born,” she said. “We decided to renovate the building and were able to start work last fall and after many long nights, tiring weekends and a few stitches, we are delighted to be fully open.”

Elizabeth Cline said the spaces are split into two different businesses, with the Edward Jones business in the front and The Exchange Boardroom & Event Center in the back. The main entrance to the event center is located on the east side.

“We are blessed to be part of this community,” she said. “We are excited to invest in the community where we raise our families and do business.”

The spaces consist of an event room and a boardroom for rent.

“We will have two different spaces available for hire, perfect for any occasion,” she said. “The larger of the two is the event room, which will be ideal for parties and corporate events.”

The reception hall rental rates include a fee of $75 per hour on weekdays and Sundays and $100 per hour on Saturdays.

The event room can accommodate 60 to 80 people around round tables, with a minimum of three hours, and has a stage, a projector and a 125-inch screen.

The boardroom is $40 per hour and can accommodate up to 14 people at a conference table. The council room is available for a minimum of two hours.

“The meeting room consists of a large conference table that seats 14 people,” she said. “He will be available for meetings and small gatherings.”

Additional packages are available for beverages and refreshments with the meeting room.

“We are delighted to have been able to complete this renovation to restore the building,” said Elizabeth Cline. “(We) are thrilled to be part of the Duncan Downtown District (and) hope the community enjoys the space as much as we do.”
